Where to buy · Australian sellers
Buy a starting line once.
After the first packet, an open-pollinated variety is yours to keep. These sellers stock open-pollinated and heirloom seed, seed potatoes, garlic and bush food plants. WE PLANTER earns nothing from any link on this page.

Reading the packet
Two letters decide whether you buy once.
| On the packet | What it means |
|---|---|
| Open-pollinated · OP · Heirloom · Heritage · Non-hybrid | Seed you save will grow the same plant, if you keep varieties apart. Buy it. |
| F1 · Hybrid · F1 Hybrid | The next generation splits into different plants. Fine to eat, not to save. |
| PBR · Plant Breeder's Rights | You may grow it, but selling or sharing its seed or cuttings needs the owner's licence. |
| Treated | Coated with fungicide. Do not eat or sprout the seed; wash hands after sowing. |
Several sellers carry both open-pollinated and F1 lines — check each packet. More in the Perpetual Seed Line Protocol.
